Because HydroSana can cause gasses like chlorine, fluorine, carbon dioxide, and sulfur to be released into the
air when water is being used, if you have a high sulfur content in your water, that gas escapes, making your environment
smell like rotten eggs.
A solution is to install an automatic degassing valve. Ryan Herco makes one called the accuvent. The maximum pressure
is 150psi and the maximum temperature is 180 degrees F. The gasses can be piped away.
Another solution is to have a gas trap. It is a holding tank that lets gasses escape there. The HydroSana is installed
before the tank. These tanks are often placed on rooftops and the water is generally not for human consumption.
HydroSana removes Fluorine.
Fluorine is Fluoride in its gaseous state. Most dentists adamantly agree the Fluoride in the water
has more benefits that negatives in preventing cavities.
There are differing points of view on this subject but Fluoride is a cumulative poison. Some people avoid Fluoride
for health considerations.
If you feel you need Fluoride, you will have to supplement your intake with Fluoride toothpaste and regular Fluoride
tooth washes at your dental checkups.
Released scale can cause problems
Once installed, the HydroSana begins loosening existing scale
immediately. This scale loosening can clog valves or expose scale closed pin holes on your pipes.
Some
real examples include scale preventing a temperature & pressure release valve on a water heater to leak. Replacing
the under $10 valve fixed the problem. The heater needed and got a good flush. Now, the heater can last decades
instead of years.
Note: We recommend a good flushing of hot water heaters after installing the HydroSana even if you are already
following the manufacturers instructions and flushing regularly. See lime scale buildup in picture above.
After installing a conditioner in a hotel, the plumbing started developing pin hole leaks in various places. Now
that those pipe sections have been replaced, the hotel will probably avoid replacing all their plumbing.
Note: If your pipes are already really thin, even though the HydroSana will fend off the inevitable, you probably
will have to replace your pipes soon with or without the conditioner.

A few days after installing the conditioner, my water heater started leaking onto my basement floor.
The t&p valve was replaced. That fixed it. But here is a link to how to flush your water heater.
